Infrastructure-less mobile networks are known as Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs). MANET is a collection of mobile nodes that are arbitrarily located so that the interconnections between nodes are dynamically changing. A node communicates directly with the nodes within radio range and indirectly with all others using a dynamically-determined multi-hop route. Routing protocols are used to find routes between mobile nodes to facilitate communication within the network. Routing protocols for MANETs could be differing depending on the application and network architecture.
