MANET is the collection of multi-hop wireless nodes which communicate with each other without any base station or centralized infrastructure. The wireless links are highly error prone and thus many routing algorithms have been developed so far. This paper focuses on two main on-demand routing protocols namely AODV and DSR, comparison of them, along with their merits and demerits. AODV is reactive routing protocols which discovers the routes on as needed basis. DSR is a protocol for a simple and efficient routing designed to be used in networks without wireless multi-hop ad-hoc mobile node.
