Performance Comparison of VMware and Xen Hypervisor on Guest OS
Virtualization has become a critical element in today's enterprise network. It makes more efficient use of server resources and setup different types of servers within both public and private cloud platforms. Hypervisor plays an important role in the virtualization of hardware. It provides a virtualized hardware environment to support running multiple operating systems concurrently using one physical server. This paper focuses on the performance comparison of guest operating system (Microsoft Window Server 2008 r2 and 64-bit) under virtual environment by using two most useful hypervisors citrix XenServer 6.5 and VMware ESXi 6.0.
