Routing in ad hoc networks is somewhat more complex than routing in regular wired networks. Unreliable links and (possibly) rapid changes in topology calls for customized routing protocols. This essay aims to discuss two such protocols, namely MPOLSR and MDART The common belief is that the same is true for ad hoc networks, i.e., multi-path routing balances the load significantly better than single-path routing. The authors' protocol, called MPOLSR & MDART is a multipath routing protocol for MANET.
