Performance Evaluation of Wi-Fi Physical Layer Based QoS Systems on Fiber Using OPNET Modeler
Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) network is based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. Wi-Fi units are used to provide a connection of local devices within homes or businesses. In this paper, OPNET Modeler is used to module and simulates a Wi-Fi networks in fixed local area networks to estimate their performance based on end-to-end delay and Wi-Fi voice-packet delay for both Wi-Fi base line and Wi-Fi base fiber. Simulation results indicate that base line has delay larger than base fiber.
