Performance Evolution and Simulation of Energy Efficient Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Network
Wireless sensor networks consist of small nodes with sensing, computation and wireless communications capabilities. The nodes in WSN can receive and relay packets as a router. Routing is a critical issue and an efficient routing protocol makes the network reliable. Routing protocols in WSNs might differ depending on the application and architecture of network. The routing protocols are divided into proactive and reactive categories. In this paper, a study and evolution has been done on the behavioral aspect of three different MANET routing protocols i.e. AODV (Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector), DSDV (Destination Sequenced Distance-Vector) and DSR (Dynamic Source Routing protocol) using the NS-2 simulation tool.
