Ultra WideBand (UWB) systems are gaining popularity in modern communication era and in future such systems need to be developed for space, defense and ground applications. Main passive components of UWB systems are antennas and filters. Inherent challenges of designing these building blocks are to cater wide range of frequencies (3.1 GHz-10.6GHz) and rejection of undesired frequencies. Till date various configurations of UWB antenna have been reported. Among these, most popular is the planar one due to its compact size, low profile and light weight features.
