Polarisation-Diverse MIMO System Performance for Mobile Phones WLAN Application
A triple dual-band inverted F antenna system is presented, intended for MIMO applications in mobile handsets accessing high-speed wireless local area networks. A comprehensive study was carried out in order to understand the enhancement of channel capacity and the effect of polarization diversity. Means of achieving minimum coupling between the three antennas were investigated over the 2.45 GHz and 5.2 GHz bands. The antennas are placed in a geometry configuration appropriate to implement the desired field and polarization diversities.
