Precise Time Synchronization in Linear Topology Network Using Transparent Clock
Time synchronization accuracy between master clock and slave clock is an important criterion in distributed measurement and control system. IEEE 1588 based time synchronization in network can be divided into multiple time synchronization processes on nodes with the linear topology network structure. In practical applications, synchronization accuracy is sensitive to processing time of middle nodes in the linear topology network, and the time jitter introduced by middle nodes would reduce the synchronization precision. In this paper, the transparent clock is employed to mitigate the inherent timing error and to enhance the overall performance, an implementation of time synchronization using transparent clock is proposed.
