Prediction Based Reliability Estimation in Manets with Weibull Nodes
MANET routing becomes difficult, when nodal mobility causes the breakdown of radio links. When any link of a path breaks, the path needs to be repaired by finding another link or replaced with a newly found path. This rerouting consumes the scarce radio resources and battery power and also can significantly affect the quality of service, thereby resulting in the degradation of the network performance. Node mobility disrupting link reliability is a major issue in MANET path selection. The usual assumption that mobility epoch lengths are exponentially (memory less) distributed is far from reality. In this paper, the authors discuss analytically, prediction based reliability estimates in MANETs with weibull nodes.
