Handoff is a key element in mobile cellular networks in order to provide Quality of Service (QoS) to the users and to support users' mobility. In order to let the number of reserved channel for handoff prioritization be compatible with the real time handoff traffic variation in a cluster and seek the balance between the new call blocking probability and the handoff failure probability in cellular mobile networks, QoS based Dynamic Channel Reservation Scheme (DCRS) for handoff prioritization is investigated in this paper. A closed-form expression is also derived to calculate the number of reservation channel to adapt the handoff traffic variations.
