Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has achieved worldwide attention in the current years. There are several applications for civilian purposes such as traffic monitoring, surveillance, etc. Nodes are deployed randomly in the network. The major limitations of randomly deployed nodes in WSN are energy consumption and network lifetime. Hence, the lifetime limitation on randomly deployed wireless sensor nodes need to be addressed and this could be resolved through energy efficient clustering. The effective formation of clustering is one of the interesting problems in sensor network.
