Reduction in the Resonant Frequency of a Simple Square Patch Antenna by Loading an Asymmetrical E-Shaped Slot in Patch
In this paper, an asymmetrical e-shaped slot has been used to load in square patch antenna. The loading of e-shaped slot results in reduction in the resonant frequency of original square patch antenna which was resonating at three different frequency bands viz. 7GHz, 10GHz and 13GHz. The slot loaded patch resonates at 5GHz and the simulation results show the return loss at 5GHz is -21dBi, VSWR is 1.1 and gain is 4.4dBi. The paper compares the parameters of original and slotted patch antenna. All simulations have been done using IE3D.
