Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is group of spatially dispersed and dedicated sensors for monitoring and recording the physical conditions of the environment. WSNs are deployed in an unattended environment in which energy replenishment is very difficult. Due to limited resources, a WSN must not only satisfy the application specific Quality of Service (QoS) requirements such as reliability, timeliness and security, but also minimize energy consumption to prolong the system useful lifetime. The tradeoff issue between energy consumption vs. QoS gain becomes much more complicated when inside attackers or intruders are present in the network, as a path may be broken when a malicious node is on the path.
