Remote Biometric Authentication Scheme with Privacy Protection

In this paper, the authors introduce a new security property, the transaction anonymity, to extend the existing security properties of privacy protection for biometrics, i.e., biometric irreversibility and indistinguishability. Based on these three security properties, a new biometric-based remote authentication scheme with privacy protection is proposed. The proposed scheme employs the Biohashing algorithm to deal with the original biometric data to protect the security and privacy of the biometric template, and at the same time, employs ElGamal algorithm to encrypt the biometric data and user identity information, respectively, to protect the privacy of the users.
