Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a network pattern wherein they are not definite about the network connectivity among mobile nodes and they may lack continuous network connectivity. This network has an assumption that the nodes co operate for the message forwarding process. Though, this assumption cannot be fulfilled when there are malicious nodes acting as black holes and willingly attracting and dropping messages. Existing work presented reputation-based protocol (RCAR) which efficiently restricted black hole attacks. Every node locally maintains reputation of forwarding nodes and identify highest reputation node and forward to it. However reputation scheme (RCAR) unable to restrict selfish node, selfish node try to preserve its resources and energy.
