Review of Data Mining Process

Databases are necessary for storing data; however, the data is only useful when it can be retrieved and analyzed. This process of turning data into knowledge is termed Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) or data mining. Techniques include data preparation and selection, data cleansing, analyzing and incorporating data history to interpret and predict outcomes. KDD process has evolved to machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies. Data mining is used for research in areas of mathematics, cybernetics and genetics.
