Route Handoff Using Channel Aware Routing Protocol in MANETs

A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANETs) is a spontaneous network that can be established with no fixed infrastructure. Mobile ad-hoc networks are characterized by multi-hop wireless links and absence of any cellular infrastructure. Transmissions of packets are impaired by radio link fluctuations. Thus, in this paper an enhanced, channel aware routing protocol extensions to a multipath routing protocol known as ad-hoc on-demand multipath distance vector routing protocol, to accommodate channel fading is introduced. The resulting protocol is referred to as channel aware-ad-hoc on-demand multipath distance vector routing protocol.
