In infrastructure wireless networks each user directly share the information and services with an access point or base station. But an ad hoc wireless networks does not have any fixed infrastructure, it is self-organizing and adaptive wireless networks. In early seventies numerous protocols have been developed for ad hoc wireless networks. The main aim of routing protocols is to establish correct and efficient route between two nodes. These routing protocols can be classified as; table-driven or proactive, on-demand or reactive, and hybrid. Routing should be done with a minimum of overhead and bandwidth consumption.
