Scheduling of tasks in grid computing belongs to a class of problems known as NP-hard problems. Grid is an infrastructure that enables sharing, selection and aggregation of wide variety of resources that are geographically distributed and owned by different organization to solve large scale computational and data intensive problems in science, engineering and commerce. Scheduling is the process of mapping tasks of an application on available grid resources or nodes. Scheduling of task and allocation of resources to tasks is very critical in grid environments.
