Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) are infrastructureless. All nodes have self-organizing capabilities. One of the most important issues is the set of IP addresses that are assigned to the ad-hoc network. IP addressing and address auto-configuration have attracted much attention in MANETs. Some papers have proposed solutions to provide an auto-configuration of nodes. But they do not absolutely support security aspects in auto-configuration techniques. Thus, security is also a main issue in address allocation.
