The users who share a location simultaneously are linked by an encounter based social network and encounter based systems. Whereas the conventional social networks link users who are friends already. The problems posed by this kind of new networks are different from those handled by the earlier social; network designs. In this paper, the authors study the functional and security requirements for these new systems, such as availability, security, and privacy, and present several design options for building secure encounter-based social networks.
