Security in 4G Systems

In Telecommunications, 4G is the fourth generation of cellular wireless network standards. It is the successor to 3G & 2G Families of Mobile Standards. A 4G system is expected to provide a comprehensive and secure all-IP Based mobile broadband solution to computers, smartphones and other mobile devices. Various research groups are working on creating a new security architecture for 4G Networks kike Y-COMM & Hokey. In order to design a sophisticated security solution there should be clear identification of various security threats. This paper focuses on the various security challenges associated with 4G Networks. The main way to achieve better security is to extend the security mechanisms of 4G Networks.
