It is a challenge to develop routing protocol that can meet different application needs and optimize routing paths according to the topology change in mobile ad hoc networks. In geographic routing, nodes need to maintain up-to-date positions of their immediate neighbors for making effective forwarding decisions. Forwarding decisions are based on only on the local topology; geographic routing protocols. To maintain neighbor positions by most geographic routing protocols, periodic broadcasting of beacon packets method used which contain geographic location of nodes.
