More and more devices are becoming network enabled and are integrated within one large, distributed system. The service-oriented paradigm is the predominant concept for the implementation of this approach and helps to deal with heterogeneous network infrastructures. For long term deployments, e.g., in process and building automation, installations have to be adaptable over time. During runtime new services will be added to the network, old services will be replaced and deployed services will be relocated to adapt the network to environmental changes and new application fields.
