Software as a Service (SAAS) as an Outsourcing Model: An Economic Analysis

Software as a Service (SaaS) is an emerging business model that delivers software applications to users through Web-based technology. Adopting SaaS applications allow companies to save their information technology cost. This paper discusses the concepts and applications of services, SaaS, outsourcing, and their economic implications. Software as a Service (SaaS) is a newly emerging business model in the software industry. The growing speed of SaaS is fast. According to Gartner's study, "By 2011, 25 percent of new business software will be delivered as Software as a Service."
