Software Defect Prediction Models for Quality Improvement: A Literature Study

In spite of meticulous planning, well documentation and proper process control during software development, occurrences of certain defects are inevitable. These software defects may lead to degradation of the quality which might be the underlying cause of failure. In today's cutting edge competition it's necessary to make conscious efforts to control and minimize defects in software engineering. However, these efforts cost money, time and resources. This paper identifies causative factors which in turn suggest the remedies to improve software quality and productivity.
