Because of the rising popularity of the 3D internet map services, the acquisition of real-time spatial information has become more important. This paper has proposed a new sensor called 'Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera' as one solution to acquire multidimensional real-time data. For this, the range acquisition mechanism and advantages & disadvantages of ToF cameras have been investigated based on previous studies. In addition, the specifications of ToF cameras so far have been summarized. To analyze the specifications of ToF cameras, data under special cases have been acquired, and the results were examined. Then, this paper has attempted to propose the usability of ToF cameras for acquisition of multidimensional real-time spatial data.
