Split Motherboard Design

Current generation motherboards used in computers have large form factors and poor efficiency. The components all need to have the same power rating and this removes the possibility of efficient designing. They also occupy large space and require powerful cooling methodologies to keep them at ambient working temperatures. The authors’ model is that of a split mother board. This contains smaller circuit boards which are connected by a voltage stabilizer. Hence, the circuit boards can be smaller form factors, reducing the size of computers and electronic devices.
