Study of FPGA based PID controllers
In this paper the authors deal with the performance analysis and implementation of robust PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controller on FPGA platform. The software implementation has been done using Xilinx ISE 9.1i as a tool. The VHDL algorithm for the proposed implementation has been presented in this paper. This paper minimizes the power consumption and delay as compared to conventional PID controllers. Performance analysis of robust PID controller using Xilinx ISE Design9.1i suite software shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
