Subcarrier Allocation and Power Loading Strategies for Multi-User Broadcast FBMC/OQAM Systems
With the objective of maximizing the sum rate, this paper tackles the subcarrier allocation and the power loading problems in the context of multi-user broadcast FBMC/OQAM. Under highly frequency selective channels the demodulated data is affected by ISI and ICI. As a consequence, the classical strategy based on assigning bands to the user that presents the highest SNR loses the optimality. With the aim of coping with the crosstalk, the authors propose a novel subcarrier allocation that relies on the SINR figure. Simulation-based results demonstrate that at low noise regime, the devised algorithm is able to outperform the conventional approach by 0.9 bits/sub-band.
