Survey Report: Licensees’ Insights into the Value of Oracle Database and Support

Oracle Database licensees are approaching a crossroads. December 2020 was the end of full support and by July 2021, 2 ODB releases will no longer be fully supported by Oracle. In the “Oracle Database Support Survey,” licensees were asked how they plan to cope, their attitudes toward Oracle Database functionality and support, and where open-source and cloud fit into their roadmaps.

The survey, conducted in Q2 2020, polled IT leaders, C-level executives, and database professionals across diverse industries in 18 countries. Benchmarked against the 2017 Rimini Street survey, “The Hidden Truths About Oracle Database,” this report also offers a look at the shift in licensee sentiment.

In the “Licensees’ Insights into the Value of Oracle Database and Support” research report, you’ll find:

  • Priorities of respondent licensees and how those align with the current health of their relationships with Oracle.
  • Details on respondent licensees’ overall satisfaction with Oracle maintenance, support, and new features.
  • Strategies regarding future investment with Oracle amid the looming end-of-full-support for specific Oracle Database instances.
  • Plans and rationale for migrating Oracle Database to alternative databases and the cloud.
