The broadband wireless system faces some challenges like requirement of a high performance reliable data link, high speed data requirement, overcoming multipath fading, ISI and ICI. Synchronization increases SNR and reduces BER. In this paper synchronization errors and synchronization algorithms in OFDM are discussed. And BER performance of OFDM system has been evaluated for QAM under AWGN channel, Raleigh fading channel and Rician fading channel. It has been analyzed from the simulation result that for 4 bits/symbol constellation the BER performance is best under AWGN channel. Also it has been analyzed that the fading channels are more sensitive to frequency offsets.
