The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are emerging as one of the most reliable technologies for implementing ubiquitous computing ultimately leading to an all-pervasive paradigm of computing infrastructure that can be utilized for several interesting applications. There are number of attacks on wireless sensor networks like black hole attack, wormhole attack, sink hole attack, Sybil attack, selective forwarding attacks etc. In this paper, the authors assess the security issues of wireless sensor networks with respect to medical applications and find out the possibility of a scenario when a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack may be injected in the system using wormhole attack.
