One of the most exciting developments of the last decade has been the development of archival content management systems that enable archivists to effectively manage information about their collections. Unfortunately, these systems are not designed for large institutions with distributed-workflows. They will focus on the management of workflows and how they can be used to meet the needs of institutions with distributed-workflows.
