The recently-released Cisco 2014 Annual Security Report offers a cross-industry look at the major security concerns at the moment as well as malware and vulnerability trends that will be significant in projecting healthcare IT security focuses in the future. The report highlights three key findings – attacks against infrastructure, perimeter security gaps, and internal hacks. Additionally, Cisco said it found three pressing IT security challenges for this year: Greater attack surface area, proliferation and sophistication of the attack model, and complexity of threats and solutions.
