The Three Drivers of Converged Systems

While research firms like IDC estimate strong spending on converged infrastructure between now and 2016, Forrester Research analyst Richard Fichera also notes that the converged infrastructure segment “will remain intensely competitive and richly rewarding to customers for the foreseeable future.”

This new IDG Research study backs up this enthusiasm.

So what’s driving the move to converged systems? According to the survey results, IT is using converged systems to address three key challenges:

• The move to cloud (cited by 57% of respondents).
• IT complexity (cited by 48%).
• Resource utilisation (cited by 47%).
