Toward Sustainable Networking: Storage Area Networks with Network Coding

Current projections indicate that the worldwide Data Center (DC) industry will require a quadrupling of capacity by the year 2020, primarily through increased demand for high-definition video streaming. In addition to requiring significant financial investments, worldwide DC capacities are approaching a scale in which their energy consumption and carbon footprint is significant.
