Towards Accountability in the Cloud

Accountability is likely to become a core concept in the cloud and to underpin new mechanisms that help increase trust in the cloud. These mechanisms must be applied in an intelligent way, taking context into account and avoiding a 'One size fits all' approach. A commonly-accepted definition for cloud computing is provided by US National Institute of Standards and Technologies: "Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction."
