Cognitive radio is one of the wireless based communication technology which has intelligence that is built into it. This technology is mainly designed to allow the unlicensed users to utilize the maximum bandwidth available in the network. An important consideration to any wireless network is secure communication. Cognitive radios are also susceptible to various kinds of attacks like Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, primary user emulation attacks, tunnel attacks and also the jamming attacks like in other networks. Nodes present in the network become selfish and start to maximize their own spectrum usage and also prevent other users from communicating in the same network while performing these attacks.
