A mobile ad-hoc network is a self-configuring network or infrastructure-less network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links which together form a random topology. Due to absence of centralized control, multi-hop communications and dynamic network topology, the provision of making routing secure in mobile ad hoc networks is much more challenging than the security in wired network or infrastructure based networks. Nodes in Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) do not depend on a central infrastructure but relay packets originated by other mobile nodes.
