Modern day applications handle large volumes of data. These applications involve real-time data manipulations to be carried within time constraints. So real-time databases are used in most of the real-time applications. For efficient utilization of database, with no compromise on speed, various compression methods are used to compress the data in a real-time database. In this paper, the authors propose a two-stage compression process. This process uses two algorithms-Swinging Door algorithm and LZSH algorithm. This paper indicates that this two stage compression results in highly compressed data.
