Design an UWB antenna with high gain and directional pattern was an aim in some application like medical, radar and communication. In this paper, presents a novel model of quasi Yagi microstrip antenna with a special ground shape like a slot antenna. A metal plane was placed under the microstrip as a small reflector. It helps to increase the front to back ratio and increase the gain of the antenna. The prototype antenna has ultra-wide bandwidth and cover 5.4GHz-9GHz with VSWR less than 2.
