Every operating system has its different way of operation. When a novice user wants to perform some operations with the operating system the user is not acquainted with, the problem arises. The novice user has to learn about the basic operations about the system to perform the intended task. However, this is time consuming job and often leads to frustration when needs to be done frequently. Hence, leads to reduced productivity. One answer to the above mentioned problem can be a generic interface which would allow user to perform their task irrespective of the underlying operating system.
