In this paper, the authors validate a green wireless communication system with the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) based and pre-coding aided semi-blind equalization, on a test-bed which consist of a pair of Keithley signal generator and signal analyzer connected to antennas. The implemented system requires only a small amount of side information to be transmitted to the receiver, therefore achieves energy- and spectrum-efficient green communications. The system performance is measured in different wireless channels and compared with simulation results. Compared with training data based channel equalization with overhead of 3.6%, pre-coding ICA equalization has a better BER performance, which gives a good tradeoff between bandwidth and energy requirement.
