Verilog-Based Design and Implementation of Digital Transmitter for Zigbee Applications
In this paper, the authors report the design and implementation of 2.4GHz-band Zigbee digital transmitter for an acknowledgment frame. A new design method is presented using Verilog hardware description language through Xilinx ISE. The behavior of digital transmitter is modeled using Verilog. The code is then implemented on Spartan3E XC3S500E Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Simulations and measurements verify the functionality of the designed transmitter. A 35% improvement is attained in terms of area and performance compared with the Very-high-speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL) implementation.
