In this paper, the authors describe the working model of wireless controlled Permanent Magnet DC motor (PMDC) drive. The proposed design helps enhancing the control of DC motors that are installed in industries from a central location through wireless medium, hence replaces dedicated control units and human supervision. It is based on the fully-controlled MOSFET based rectifier circuit and communicates with a control unit (PC) through RF ZigBee transceiver. It is implemented using a Xilinx Spartan 3E FPGA unit and to control a 12V PM DC motor and the results are shown.
