Wireless Mesh Networks: WMN Architecture, Issues and Challenges

The Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is a popular technology which provides the last mile broadband access. In Wireless Mesh Network (WMN), through wireless routers, a mesh client can access the Internet. Wireless mesh routers are interconnected using a multi-hop fashion. This paper represents an overview of the wireless mesh technology (i.e. concepts, classification of wireless networks etc.) and architecture of WMN (i.e. applications, types of nodes in WMNs, architecture of node etc.). In this paper, issues and challenges are deliberated briefly.
