As most chat is single channel oriented, it becomes difficult to initiate and communicate on multichannel platforms. Hence there is a strong need for multichannel chat based on XMPP (eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) protocol. XMPP allows an application to send and receive chat messages to and from any XMPP compatible chat messaging service. With advent of cloud computing and API (Application Program Interface), there is scope for multi-channel chat to unify various services and reach more people in one instant.
