32 Bit Updates for a Window 7 64 bit operting system

I have three HP laptops using Window 7 with a 64 bit. I receive daily updates for the Window 7 32 bit. If I forget and when I try to shutdown, each laptop trys to download the 32 bit updates but the installation always hangs up with the message installing 1 of 4 update. I let one laptop run with this message on it run for 24 hours to see what would happen. Nothing, the next day same message. Any ideas? Thanks
